The Standard Horizon BQ-270 Perfect Binder provides simple operation, automated set-up, and superior quality from the first book to the last, without the need for a skilled operator. Book titles are accurately positioned on the spine and automatic “hinge scoring” preserves the integrity of the spine. The BQ-270 is ideal for on demand perfect binding applications.

A simple icon-based touch-screen provides quick and easy setup with full automation. Up to 20 different jobs can be stored in memory for instant recall.

Carriage Clamp

Carriage Clamp
The clamp is automatically and accurately adjusted to the input book thickness.  The mechanical clamping system secures clamping ofmthe book block for accurate milling and binding on books up to 2" thick.

Cover Feeder

Cover Feeder
An advanced rotary vacuum feed system ensures fast, smooth feeding of various stock types.  Even sensitive stock and digitally imaged covers are fed without any damage to the sheet.

Vertical Stack Delivery

Vertical Stack Delivery
The finished books are delivered to a vertical stacker located just below the book loading station. This allows one operator to easily check the quality of completed books while continuing production.

Up to 3.1" of cover stock can be loaded into the top-feed cover station, which is positioned to accommodate in-line hinge and corner scoring.

Scoring
The scoring position is automatically set-up via the LCD touch-screen. Scoring depth is easily adjusted to accommodate a wide range of cover stocks and thicknesses. This ensures a professional, sharp, square spine.

Cover Registration
Stepper motor controlled cover register ensures accurate cover to book block positioning. Cover transport belt pressure can be adjusted through the LCD touch-screen for various sheet types.

Milling & Roughening

Milling & Roughening
The rotary milling and roughening blades mill off up to 3mm (.012") from the book spine for optimum glue penetration and adherance. For safe operation, the milling brake stops the blade rotation immediately when any cover is opened.

Gluing Application
Dual application and side gluing rollers ensure superior glue application. The amount of glue applied is automatically set-up and can be fine-tuned. The glue temperature can be regulated within a range from 248°F to 356°F, depending on glue type.
